Fourth Grade Teacher Receives Distinguished Teaching Award from the National Council for Geographic Education -

The National Council for Geographic Education will award its Distinguished Teaching Award for K-12 to Lin Butter. The award is given to a teacher who has made extraordinary commitments to the teaching and learning of geography in the classroom.
Ms. Butter is a fourth grade teacher at Putnam Valley Elementary School in Putnam Valley, New York.
Ms. Butter will be honored at an awards ceremony during the NCGE annual conference to be held September 30- October 3, 2010 in Savannah, Georgia.
The NCGE was chartered in 1915 to promote geographic education at all levels of instruction. It currently has over 2,000 members worldwide.
