PVHS Hudson Valley Magazine Article Graduation Statistic -
January 27, 2010
In the February 2010 issue, Hudson Valley Magazine ran an article called, “The Valley’s Top High Schools”. This article included statistics on 65 schools in the Hudson Valley and printed data on each school and district. Putnam Valley High School is proud to be included in the article.
In examining the article, it was evident that there was an error in the statistic that represented the percentage of PVHS graduates that attend 2 or 4-year colleges. Hudson Valley magazine published that only 74% of Putnam Valley High School graduates attended college after graduation. This number is INCORRECT. For the 2005 cohort (Class of 2009), 92% of our graduates attended a 2 or 4-year institution, 2% entered the military to serve our country, 1% entered the workforce, and 5% were not certain of their future plans at the time of graduation.
We are very proud of all of our graduates. They are prepared to thrive in whatever path their life takes them and become active and productive citizens of the global community. They are forever part of our PV Family.
