Summer Music Camp Scholarships!
PVMA annual summer music camp scholarship application is now available to all middle and high school students interested in attending a summer music program, and who are currently enrolled in either a band or choral class in the Putnam Valley district. The application can be accessed on the district website under parent resources/PVMA, or through your band and choral teachers. Deadline for submitting the application is April 15, 2010.
This is a great opportunity to enrich and expand your child's musical interests and talent. Please consider music camps when planning for the summer break.

What Is The PVMA?

Purpose
The purpose of the Putnam Valley Music Association is to raise money and manage funds in support of music education in the Putnam Valley C.S.D. The PVMA will pubically advocate for high quality music education and serve as a vehicle to engage the community in meaningful partnership.

To date, PVMA has:

  • Helped establish the Tri-M Music Honor Society
  • Awarded monies to each of the three schools to enhance their music programs
  • Provide summer camp grants each year
  • Support students who otherwise would not be able to participate in the music program with instrument rentals
  • Support student participation in various student events
  • Funded guest musicians and performing groups
  • Funded performing arts equipment outside the PVCSD school budget
  • Funded plaques recognizing outstanding chorus and band graduates
  • Granted music awards for graduating high school seniors
  • Funded year-end gifts to four band and chorus students at the middle school
  • Sponsored Variety Shows with district-wide staff participation
  • Sponsored a West Point Brass Quintet event for all schools
  • Sponsored a West Point brass workshop for students in the middle and high schools
  • Sponsored a United States Military Academy Concert Band community event
  • Sponsored the MotherLode Trio singers
