What Is The PVMA?

Do you have a budding musician in your home?
Do you look forward to the winter and spring concerts at school each year?
Do you believe that music enriches a child’s life in ways that nothing else can?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, the Putnam Valley Music Association is for you.

The PVMA is an organization of parents and educators who want to foster the best possible music education of Putnam Valley students. Our overall objective is to help raise awareness about the music in our schools and to enhance the community’s and student’s experience alike.
To date, PVMA has:

• Helped establish the Tri-M Music Honor Society
• Awarded monies to each of the three schools to enhance their music programs
• Provided summer camp grants to the Litchfield Jazz Camp, the NY State Summer Music
• Festival and the Luzerne Chamber Summer Music Festival
• Funded guest musicians to perform with the HS Mixed Choir
• Funded a spot light for middle school
• Funded plaques recognizing outstanding chorus and band graduates
• Granted music awards for graduating high school seniors
• Funded year-end gifts to four band and chorus students at the middle school
• Sponsored Variety Shows with district-wide staff participation
• Sponsored a West Point Brass Quintet event for all schools
• Sponsored a West Point brass workshop for students in the middle and high schools
• Sponsored a United States Military Academy Concert Band community event
• Sponsored the MotherLode Trio singers
