Whether you are interested in art, enjoy being creative, are in need of community service, or you just want to be a part of a friendly and unique club, Art Club has something for everyone. Not only do the members of Art Club come up with enjoyable projects that involve making the school a more creative environment, they are also given the opportunity to explore their own artistic enthusiasm!
There is no set structure in terms of what Art Club is supposed to be. All members are able to participate and decide on what they are interested in doing during tenth period. Recently, the Art Club spent a week working with clay and pottery wheels. In the future, the Art Club plans on coming up with more projects for its members, so all ideas and suggestions are welcome!
The Art Club makes it a priority to give back to the community! The members of the Art Club have the opportunity to come up with ideas that revolve around making the school more expressive and creative. To illustrate, last year, the Art Club created an eye-catching mural in Mr. Mahoney’s room. This year, the Art Club plans on going further with this concept, in which its members plan on designing other murals for the empty spaces on the school’s walls.
The Art Club meets during one full week out of every month, after school, during tenth period. By attending regularly, members are able to receive one hour of community service. The Art Club’s members can accumulate additional community service hours by volunteering at the “Come, Paint, Create!” event.
The Art Club’s annual “Come, Paint, Create!” event has been very successful in the past, and all proceeds go to a charity that is thoughtfully chosen by the members of the Art Club. For this event, anyone can pre-order molded ceramic item(s) to paint and design using ceramic glazes. The “Come, Paint, Create!” event is perfect for spending time with friends and family. The event is on Saturday, December 3rd, 2011 from 10am to 3pm. If you have any questions, you can e-mail Mrs. Armbruster at jarmbruster@pvcsd.org.
