JOB CLASSIFICATIONS

1. Certified Positions: These positions include teacher, guidance counselor, social worker, and psychologist. Certification is required by NY State Education Department. Click here for more information on teaching in NYS.
2. Classified Positions: These positions include cleaners, clerical, custodial, maintenance, school monitor, and teacher aide and are governed by Civil Service Law and procedures. A Civil Service test may be required.  Click here for more information on CSEA positions in Putnam County.

REQUIREMENTS

1. Certified Positions require the following:
   • Completed Application
   • Resume and Cover Letter
   • Copy of recent college transcript
   • Copy of Certification
   • Copy of Child Abuse and School Violence Certificates
   • Copy of Autism Training Certificate if Special Education
   • Fingerprinting
2. Classified Positions require the following:
   • Completed Application
   • Resume and Letter of Interest
   • Copy of recent diploma or transcripts
   • Fingerprinting

Nurses require RN or LPN.
Bus Drivers require a CDCL license and FBI abstract.

New York State law requires that the Office of School Personnel Review and Accountability conduct fingerprint supported criminal history background checks for all prospective employees of school districts.
