Putnam Valley Music Association Variety Show Fundraiser -
October 23, 2009
The Putnam Valley Music Association recently presented their annual Variety Show fundraiser. Faculty and staff members from the Elementary School, Middle School and High School came together to bring a night of music, laughter and good fun to our community.
The Putnam Valley Music Association was created to raise and manage funds in support of music appreciation and education in both the Putnam Valley Central School District and in our community. Each year, PVMA has been able to give monetary awards in chorus, band, and theater, to graduating seniors, along with several summer music camp grants to deserving students. Instrument rental fees in the Elementary and Middle schools have been paid for students who would otherwise not be able to participate in the band program. Several instrumental and choral groups, sponsored by the PVMA, have performed, or conducted workshops, in our schools for both students and the community to enjoy. PVMA has supported students in performance-based events outside of our District and we are always open to ideas and requests from our teachers.
While the Variety Show is a fundraiser, it highlights the wonderful faculty and staff members that work in the District. The students love watching and cheering them on! It is a community-building event based in song, music, and performance - everything PVMA wishes to encourage and support.
